The new Dollar General penny list goes for Tuesday, September 15. This one is all Clover Valley sodas — the 12 packs of Cola, Root Beer, and Dr. Topper.
What time they go
These will penny in the app around 2 AM EST Tuesday morning.
The time to hunt is right when your store opens. That is when the shelves have not been picked through yet — wait until the afternoon and somebody else has already been down that aisle.
These may be harder to find
These sodas have been on clearance for a little while now and have already gone through clearance events, so a lot of stores have been picked over. They are still out there, you just may have to look a little harder.
Do not trust anything in the app that says out of stock. I have already found these in stores where the app was showing them as out of stock. If your store is showing out of stock, it is still worth checking.
Where to look
Be sure to check the end caps and the sky shelves. Clearance soda gets moved around a lot and tends to end up somewhere other than the regular soda aisle.
Be careful pulling heavy items down from up high. A 12 pack of soda is heavy, and it is not worth getting hurt over a penny. If it is up too high to get down safely, ask an employee for help.

Be kind out there
Penny items are not supposed to still be sitting on the shelf, and an employee can tell you no. If that happens, be nice about it — it is not the cashier’s fault, and arguing is not going to change the price. A polite thank you goes a lot further, and it keeps stores from getting fed up with penny shoppers altogether.
Please also leave the store the way you found it. If you pull things off a shelf or dig through a bin, put it back where it belongs. The mess is what gives penny shopping a bad name, and the employees are the ones who have to clean it up.
